Street Lane, Lower Whitley,
WA4 4EN, Warrington, Cheshire, United Kingdom |
The 400-year-old Cheshire-brick roadside Inn. In a quite road just off the A49, in the heart of the farming Cheshire countryside. It is said to have a tunnel leading to the vicarage, which continues on to St Luke’s church, believed to be the oldest brick church in England still standing. There’s a tap room which welcomes walkers and their dogs, the bar room itself, tiny with an open log fire. The bar is surrounded by a warren of small intimate Dining rooms and passageways. The main dining room opens onto a terrace overlooking the pub’s own crown bowling green.
